Crochet
Crochet is very different from knitting, which uses both hands equally. All the work in crochet is done with the dominant hand. The dominant hand using the hook introduces a new awareness and rhythm, giving the hand new strength, muscle memory, and sensitivity, not only for handwork class but for other skills such as writing, too. Children will crochet two potholders and a flute/recorder case and a pentagon mat. If time allows, children will be able to choose from a variety of extra projects such water bottle carrier, hat, animal or doll, sun coasters, etc.
This class is appropriate for:
- Children age 8 and up
With the following skills:
- Waldorf Handwork Basics
- A child does not need to know how to knit but it is recommended that knitting be learned before crochet.
